About Purpose

Purpose is one of the first and most important considerations technical writers think about before beginning a writing project. This blog was created to remind current and aspiring technical writers that:

  • We have purpose in the industries we serve.
  • We must focus on our documents’ purposes to write effectively.
  • We have a purpose in life. For some of us, it is to write.

As a technical writer not currently working on software documentation, this blog hopes to create a community and learning space for the many different types of technical writers and professional communicators.

About Christina

Christina is a contract technical writer and is always looking for interesting opportunities. Christina enjoys making forms, playing with useful software, and learning many new things. She hopes to learn and master FrameMaker and other single sourcing applications at her next position.

Christina is the copyeditor for the Society for Technical Communication – Carolina chapter and has been judging the technical writing competition for the last three years.
